Saw Asaf Avidan last night. Lovely man, lovely guitar, lovely voice.

I’ve been knitting for nearly 10 years and I just today figured out I should slip knitwise for ssk.

Some unsolicited map advice: add a legend, ocean and the surrounding countries. A legend would be the most important one! asked by everygoodusernameistaken

Ah yes, thanks. I’m actually a professional cartographer, so I get to break the rules when I make personal maps. ;)
But, in case others are having trouble interpreting, darker = higher/greater/more. Didn’t break that rule.

ok, so I made several maps of the data, and now I’m hungry so here’s a gif instead.

so, I was reading CBC’s article about a comprehensive list of missing or dead women in Canada. the data is available online, so grabbed it, and mapped it.
First map: where the total number of missing and murdered women are found. BC and Ontario: pretty awful. But hey, they have lots of people, right? let’s try normalizing this…

It’s still amazing to me how few cities have rail transit from their…

Well, the research I’ve read says that the most effective way to figure out where to put a subway/sky train/whatev is to experiment with express buses. If you can get people to ride those, they’ll make the switch to mass transit more easily than going directly from their cars.
For example, I live close to the Canada line. I used to take the bus into town, easily switched to the Canada line. But I never took the bus to the airport, so I still make my boyfriend drive me.
Thus I support putting in a skytrain along the b-line, but that evergreen thing? Probs not going to work.
Also, people have luggage.
I do love a direct line when I’m traveling though. Europe is so much better at that. Even TO doesn’t have it figured out, which is kinda horrible.

Bye bye Europe. Your street street art, music and cobblestones are pretty rad. Take care of yourself and we’ll see you soon. Xoxo

Last night when X was tired of driving on the very narrow streets, we pulled over at the next place we found to stay, which is a lovely b&b. Decided to pay the extra 10€ for the room with a view. Pretty okay view, too.

Someone has a very large bag. Waiting for the train to Figueres to see the Dali museum. Missed the first one. First one, though - not bad with this guy ;)

So I took this book out of the library mostly because of Christine Friar’s posts about donkeys. I only read about 50 pages (had to return it early due to leaving) but it was pretty good. Meditative. Anyhow, totally forgot I had taken the photo, but then I got this little guy in my airport Bellini. Think I can start a travel blog about donkeys?
